Access Sport held their Fundraising Dinner; Questions of Sport at Lords Cricket Ground on
Wednesday 26th November. The evening highlighted the incredible work done by volunteers across the Country to help disadvantaged children participate in sport and physical activity. Olympians and Sports Stars graced the stage to congratulate Access Sport Partner Clubs. Nick Pepper from Lawrence Weston BMX Club picked up the prestigious Partner Club of the Year Award.

Access Sport Trustee, Natalie Pinkham led a Q & A with Matt Dawson, Bradley Wiggins, David Weir and Rebecca Romero to name just a few. Entertainment came from impressionist Jon Culshaw and over 300 guests took part in the Question of Sport Quiz. Auction items up for grabs included: 1966 Signed England Football Shirt, British Cycling Signed Skin Suit and a Yachting experience with Ben Ainslie.

Access Sport raised over £30 000 to invest into grassroots club sport, targeting disadvantaged areas across the country. Click here to see the photographs from Questions of Sport.

 

Bristol Sports Jam 2008

Access Sport will return to Bristol's Millenium Square on Saturday 13th September 2008 to host the second Bristol Sports Jam between 11am-4pm.

There will be dozens of sports and activities on offer for children between the ages of 6-16 years to try, sports clubs ranging from Basketball to Boxing will be showcasing their clubs in an effort to boost youth membership.  There will be the opportunity to meet Access Sport Ambassadors as well as free goody bags for participants. 'Goldilocks and the 4 Bears' do the Hebridean Challenge!

At the end of June a team of 5 Access Sport supporters will cover over 700km by mountain biking, hill running, road biking, swimming and sea kayaking.
